Okay, I have been having a horrible hatching season so far.
The first batch of shipped eggs, I intervened too soon.
The second batch, I cooked with a temp spike.
The third hatch, my bulb went out long enough to kill the batch.

So imagine my dismay when I went to check on the eggs and I was missing EIGHT eggs!
Looked all over for them, but no eggs. (Figured my four year old must have taken them because the lid was on perfectly) BAH!

Came home after being away all night, and husband yells at me to come look at the bator. I run, thinking the eggs had magically reappeared. Instead, there was a little healthy looking chick! The turner was still, and I hadn't upped humidity yet. No other pips.

Its day 18, and I am in shock.

Yep that sure is a weird day! Never found them?

That brings up a question I was wondering. I know your supposed to leave the chicks in there until the hatch is complete, but what if the hatch is spread out, like yours will be. Does snatching a day old chick out mess up the rest?

Nope, never found them.
If there are no pips tomorrow morning, I'll probably take this one out. Who knows, maybe this won't be a prolonged hatch and this is the only chick.
