So I just went out to collect my eggs as I do, and there was this egg, whats the deal with it? is it not fully developed or something, I'm not entirely sure but I think one of my buff orpingtons laid it, should I be alarmed?

Sometimes it just happens. In my experience generally at the start or end of a laying cycle. It may happen to several eggs and then never happen again. Are you feeding a laying ration or supplying free choice oyster shell?

Yeah, I mix in oyster shells with their feed, and I will also sometimes crush up egg shells into bitty pieces and give it to them.

How old are your birds, in weeks or months?
How long have they been laying?

their feed
What is their regular feed, bran/model/protein and calcium percentages?

They need the oyster shell in a separate dish free choice every day all year long.
Ditto Dat!
You can mix the egg shell in with the OS tho.
