What about a candy thermometer?

well, I am just putting the water in the little trough at one end.....maybe that is NOT where I am supposed to be putting it. However I think I have it solved.....put the whole thing on a tote lid and barely raised up the end where the whole are....I could see them then...not very big holes.

I just pour it in there....usually twice a day for now. Like I said...DH leaves Sunday and I will have the right kind of thermometer that measures humidity so I will know for sure....
