I know I posted here, didnt I? For some reason, it is not showing up. Gee. Well, it's gone so here I go again. Just wanted to say that if you are waiting for Nifty, you'll have to be patient. He is dealing with a family situation and may be a bit scarce around here for a few weeks. Also, want to repeat that participation in any event like this is at your own risk. BYC cannot be involved in this in any way or hold any liability. Hopefully, Nifty can pop in soon.

Thanks for the update Speckledhen. Hope everything works out for Nifty. We are in no hurry. It will give us more time to get things figured out. Maybe we could have a solid plan ready for him. Might help his decision.

Denna, We are gonna have to talk I'm gonna be looking for some JG's in a couple months. Don't have any of what your looking for. I have 2 RCRIR (Roosters) and some Orps. I really like the larger bird so JG should fit right in.

Though.... a small elephant?? I don't know what the incubation time on one of those is.

And remember... don't send something you can't afford. With as many people on this board that will attempt to hatch anything resembling an egg, I am sure we can work the kinks out. Like myself, I don't have any purebreeds seperated out and it will be... a long time before that happens. I also have no problem getting rid of "BARNYARD" crosses, so there is hope for all of us who have mixes.

I see setting up two groups eventually... one that is pure breeds only and one that is whatever you put in the box.

i'm still alive,lol just been really sick had to sleep some of it off. yes byc would not be involved it's something everyone has to do in good faith, that's why i said keep a list of who doesn't follow through and they can't take part again if they don't follow through.

I think the Barnyard crosses is gona be a staple for this project. That is waht most people will want. I see this being for the newbess who wants to learn chickens and oldbes that wanna have funand have some different chickens. It would be great if it went to two groups as you described.

Hi Silkie, glad you still alive, sorry to hear you were sick. I don't know about where you are at but here in Illinois the temps been up and down, perfect for getting sick.

I just might be in for a swap, I'll be checking in to see if it comes together, Mine will be a barnyard mix.
I've got 16 of my eggs in on day 20 today I'll see what mine are going to be like.
This is my first time try hatching in a incubator.
I've allways had the hen's do it in the past.

Well, if we get the ok, I'm in. I was going to be part of the last secret swap and backed out when it became apparent that it didn't seem like we were even supposed to be talking about in on the board. (absolutely no offense meant to the moderaters and Nifty, you must do what you have to to keep things on the up and up!) I don't mind taking on all the risk myself and understand BYC can't sanction it in anyway just so long as we can set it up and discuss it openly in the board, it will be a lot of fun.
