Hello all,

I am waiting for my local Agway to call about the arrival of 25 Buff Orps.
This is the brooder made from mostly scrap lumber with the other essentials from a brooder kit.

I have the advantage of heat in floor in the mudroom where you see the
brooder. I ran the set up yesterday and got the temp to stabilize
at 93.5F.

Should I just put small low dishes in with food and water for the first 48 hours. Should I leave the feeders and waters in there, along with the dishes,
just so they have a choice?

That is a generic brown packing paper with no ink in the bottom of the brooder. I believe I should switch to litter after the first 48. Is this true?

Thanks for all you help. The phone not ringing is driving me crazy. They should have been here this morning.

Pics?? I just put feeders and waterers with little pebbles/marbles in the water, not dishes. And the paper may get slick. I'd cover it with paper towels will they start eating and drinking then just put pine shavings in with them. They'll eat a small amt of the shavings but then they'll realize they aren't food and stop for the most part.

All right..I give up....How do I add pictures?

I uploaded them to photobucket but I dont' know what to do after that...

Thanks for your patience...
