What age and how close to laying are the hens?

It's hard to tell. If it was far back, could be Silkie, Polish, etc.

I have an old English game rooster and he is awesome ! He usually won’t eat until his ladies have had their fill. He works tirelessly scratching up bugs in the dirt and calling them over and always make sure he knows where all his hens are If he loses sight of one he goes nuts squawking running around looking for her till he finds her and leads her back to the group. When he spots a hawk or senses danger he squawks in Leeds his girls to a safer spot. When we come through the steps aside and has never shown aggression towards us. He’s not exactly the pick up type but shows us just as much respect as we show him. He’s everything you could ask for out of a rooster and he is dang handsome! I hope you enjoy yours and have just a good experience as I’ve had with mine. That’s a beautiful flock you have

@Rachel Taylor Oh my gosh! Same! This little dude is fantastic as well, always calling his ladies over to eat and watches out for them and has never been mean, they've been here about a week now. I've named him Cogburn, hen 1 is A.L.F. and hen 2 is Shirly! Cogburn loves being held, A.L.F. is also especially sweet but I think Shirly will take her time getting used to me lol. Thanks so much! I sure will!
