What age can hens go broody

Hello everyone, I’m here to ask that at what age can hens go broody? Like can they go broody at a young age or must they be a certain age to start broody behavior.

They can go broody soon after egg laying begins--I had one that did. That doesn't mean you should let them hatch eggs, it's probably best to wait until they are more mature.

My bantam start getting broody behavior at around 6 to 7 months and my australorp was broody this summer at one year and six months and currently I have a three year old show girl broody with three eggs. I think it depends on every individual bird
