What age can they go outside and can we hold them, or do we have to wait a week?

We had three chicks hatch over the past two days .we are coming to the end of day 22 and two others pipped hours ago, but no sign of progression .
Do we have to wait a week to hold them if we wrapt them in a blanket it put them down our top?
Also what age can they go outside?

You shouldn't have to wrap them up to hold them for a few minutes.
You can gently hold chicks now, just be aware they can be squirmy and dropped easily. You may want to sit beside the brooder and take one at a time, gently hold for a couple of minutes and then put back in.

If you sit with them and talk with them they will get used to you as well.

Do keep in mind that chick(en)s are prey animals, so they can be quite skittish, especially of hands reaching from above. So take your time, talk to them, don't snatch.

Good luck with your babies! Hope those that pipped, hatch soon too:)

You can play with them out from under the lamp for a few minutes at a time, no worries. You don't have to put them in your boobs to have them out of the bin :lau
