I have a Jumbo Pekin duck who just started laying. Baked some fresh cookies last night with the eggs😋 yum!
I’m wanting to hear from others who have Pekin ducks - what age did they stop laying? I can’t find much information on here (specific to Pekin’s.) Just wondering about how long my girl will produce for!🥚🤍

I have two pekins who are just over three years old. For their first couple years of laying they laid almost every single day, and now they just lay 1-3 eggs a week at most. I'm okay with it as they already have an uphill battle just getting around with their size. I would rather have them save their energy! I love their sweet personalities, so I'm happy to feed them and care for them despite not many eggs, but I've had so many health issues with them I'm not sure I would have raise them again.

Good to know. Appreciate your insight!

Our Pekin was a solid layer for a year and a half. For the last two years she lays a shell less egg every couple months followed by a fairy egg a day or two later.
I know this is an old post, but our Pekin duck is starting to do the same, laying shell less eggs or soft shells, we’ve taken her to the vet and they are looking into having her fixed, which I would be ok with, except I don’t want to lose her, she’s my baby, and I know surgery for ducks can be really risky. How is your Pekin now? I’m wondering if we can just let her lay soft shells and live out her life, I just want to be with her.
