What age do Brahma roos start mating?

Hi y'all!! I have a flock of 4 month old light Brahmas. They are currently on the same pen as my 1 yr old RIRs. When I went to collect eggs today, I turned around to see one of my Brahma cockrels mating one of my RIR hens. I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find out the sexual maturity of Brahma roos. Any help would be fantastic!

Sounds normal for any cockerel, regardless of breed.

I know this is an older thread. It probably depends on the bird. Our buff Brahma boys started mating/fighting right at 5 months. I've heard anywhere from 5-6 months so I'm sure some are sooner and some are later.
