What age do Pekin Ducks start laying eggs

Question about mallard have a male who's about five mo this old. He's mounting the female and she's laying but not one fertile egg yet. Can someone explain is he not old enough to fertilize her? Thank you

She won't be ready to breed until 4-5 months old so please get her away from the drake. She isn't laying yet.

Thank you I was wondering if he would harm her. Didn't think she was old enough and was surprised when he went after her, didn't think they did until she was at breeding age.

Some drakes are just so hormonal they could care less what age they are mating with. For her protection keep her away from the drakes till around 4.5 months old at least.

My pekin duck is almost a year old and she has not laid any eggs, anyone know why?
