is it possible for a rooster to go 3 weeks with out crowing? i bought 2 silkies who were supposed to be females but the big one looks like a male although he/she hasn't let out a single crow for the 3 weeks ive had it. what age do roos start to crow? Can any one tell me how old these silkies look to you? they both weigh about 2 lbs. they are both the same age and the female one hasn't begun to lay yet. Do silkie rosters loud crowers, and how many times a day would the crow?

Every roo is different. I can say that if the hen hasn't started laying it is very possible the other is a roo who just hasn't started crowing yet. If they haven't reached maturity then they would likely be around 4-5 months considering their size I would think.
