what age do you put the young hens in with the older ones

I have an 9 week old BR rooster that I am re-homing. The family that he is moving to consists of 4 hens (their rooster die of old age about a year ago and the are looking to get another). We are concerned whether the fact that their hens are a bit older and full grown will pose a problem of him being accepted. They also have one hen that is a bit mean already. Omlet, my roo has been raised with 6 ladies up to this point from 1 day old. Any thoughts?

it is up to the hens, we just moved our peeps into the coop, one of the hens went after one peep out of 23 and then we saw all the hens going after her so we took her out, she has a bleedie head so keeping her out, but the rest seem ok, as soon as our new coop is done the peeps will go in that.

Hello everyone. So I have 11 1 year old ladies and I just got 9 poullets. That are so cute but they are chirping like baby child still. Last night one of the little ones got pecked to death. It's so sad!!!

. So this morning I put a chicken wire wall in the coop to divide them. Hope this helps. But how long should I do this and how should I let them out free range?

I put my young birds in a dog cage in the coop once they are fully feathered. They get used to the area and the older birds get used to them. After an orientation period, I open the door and leave it open enough for the smaller birds to run in, but the big ones can't. Usually a smooth transition

we have 6 pullets, who are 3 months old today. i have had them separated from the "elders" since we got them. we brood them in the garage and the last 6 weeks they have had free range of the garage (yes, we have poop all over...UGH) where we have a large pen where they roost at night. during the day i leave the garage door open so the elders can mingle with the newbies to make the transition easier on everyone when the younger ones are moved out to the big girl coop. today i noticed the younger ones are hanging out under the cedar tree with the older ones and everyone is getting along well. can i move the new ones into the coop with the older ones now? i have heard that they shouldn't eat layer pellets until they are 4 months old, i don't know if i can handle another month of cleaning poop off of everything in the garage. since they all seem to be doing well together, is it too soon to put them all together where layer pellets are offered as feed? our chickens free range from morning til roost time, so the younger ones will have the option to get at their starter/grower all day.
Thanks!

We have a hen and roo that are about 5 months and 6 hens that are about 10 weeks. The older two are in one house and younger in another. We just moved both houses into same pen. Question is when should and how should we start letting them out together? Roo is a Leghorn older hen is a Sexlink and younger hens are Buffs. Thanks for any advice.

I have 3 standard 4 month old big chickens ( all girls),
I also have 2, 8 week old silkies. I have been blocking them off with hardware wire in the run, and also doing it inside the coop as well!! How long until I can take the wire down and have them together? The silkies will never be the same size so I'm just not sure how this works!!! HELP....
