What age do you start changing from “chic” feed?

(IMO) Chicks should be kept on a non med chick crumb or grower until they start laying. At 4 months, I’d leave a cup of oyster shell in their coop then just top it up as needed. Once they start laying, then change to layers feed. You can still supplement with oyster shell.

Everyone has their different ways though so I’m sure others will give their opinion soon.

Read the Label or back of bag for directions. They very by manufacturer.
I feed a Start and Grow feed 18% to day old chicks. Directions say (feed continuously from day old until onset of production).

Another brand of Starter Grower 18% says (Feed as the sole ration from hatch until 22 weeks of age. However for Layer Pullets switch to Layer feed at 16 weeks).

I kept my recent Flock of Barred Rocks on Medicated Start & Grow feed for 10 weeks. Then I changed to a Non-Medicated Starter-Grower or a All-Flock/Flock Raiser crumble, whichever is fresher when I'm at TSC.
I offered Oyster Shells separately after 16 weeks old. 20181214_095753.jpg .
All seven were laying by 23 weeks.
I am currently feeding them a All-Flock/Flock Raiser, with Oyster Shells separately.
I don't feed a Layers feed because my first Flock of Golden Comets feather picked when I switched to a 16% Layers feed. So I don't feed chickens less than 18% Protein. 18 to 20% is what I've been buying for a year and a half. GC

Im going to be switching to all flock. Which you can start them on I was told right from the beginning. I however need to wait till my turkeys are 8 weeks of age. This year I have chicks, ducks and turkeys so I will be keeping them all together and on one feed. Last year when I had just chickens I didn’t switch them to a layer feed until 18 weeks, which is right when they started laying

I have all three as well I am raising together.

I fed my chicks starter until the bag was empty. Then I switched a grower (or all flock... would've started with all flock if I'd seen it before buying starter). Layer once they're all laying or very close to it.

If you have all three, make sure you're feeding a food suitable for ducks. They need more niacin than the others and will have severe leg problems if not given enough niacin.
