We got three new baby chicks in the past week, and they already have a few "big" chicken feathers on their wings. Does anybody have any idea at about what week they start to get them? Thanks! Also what is a good age to introduce them to the outdoors (grass, dirt) with VERY close mointoring? We've had six baby birds before (ducks and chickens), but never thought of these questions! Thanks!

a week or 2 and the feathers will grow. it's very fast.
Also, I'd let them out for a few minutes at a time as long as it's warm. but not until they're about 3 weeks old. that's just my opinion. since they should still be using the heat lamp, they will get cold until their fully feathered.
They will like the outside though!
