I processed two jakes at 26.5 weeks old and they were 11 and 14 lbs respectively and had been supplementing corn for at least a month and a half about a big red folgers coffee can a day of corn with all the 20% finisher they could eat. They have an 8x8 house and a 20ish by 20ish pen to roam and scracth in. I have had some hay in the pen for them to scratch around for seeds and such. they were very very delish... one was a BR the smaller was a Sweetgrass. One was baked for 3 hours and one for 2 hours with not much difference other than it makes ya wana shout its so much better than storebought.

Buck Creek, that picture is HILARIOUS!!! And it says it all about turkeys and what they can do without much prompting. They just seem to do it all on their own.
