What age to put bobwhites on wire??

Are they babies? I put chicks on wire after one week, using 1/4" hardware cloth. As they grow and the poop gets bigger, I then move them to 1/2" inch hardware cloth. Adult Bobs can go on 1/2" at any time.

If I remember correctly my coturnix went on wire at two weeks.

Im about to incubate some bobwhite eggs, but recently built a wire floor cage, but just wanted to know when i can put the birds in the wire floor cage.

Mine go on wire right from the hatcher... however, for the first 5-7 days I usually have a piece of rubber shelf liner or paper towel in there under the light to help them get their footing. 1/4" hardware cloth to start, then up to 1/2" when they're full size.

I do 4-5 weeks I use 1/2" X 1/2" wire here or 1/2 X 1" depending on specie I go more by ambient temps then anything else
