What age to sell at?

My chicks are almost 7 weeks old. I intend to sell 2. For the sake of the flock and sold chicks, should I do it now or wait until point of lay?

I've got 6 pullets, if it matters.

For the sake of the flock and sold chicks I don't think it matters. As far as your flock they'll get over it no matter which way it goes. Hopefully the person getting them knows how to integrate them, but again that is the same risk both ways.

X2... when you are certain which you wish to keep and which to sell, sell. Sometimes I have my picks early, Luther times I wait several weeks or months depending on what is holding up my choice.

If you don't already have a buyer lined up, it might be better to try and sell now, and if it takes awhile then they will just be closer to point of lay by the time the get a home

economically speaking, the sooner you sell them, the more return you get on your investment of time and feed. If you can get $15 for them now, I would sell. I bought some mutts that were that age for $5.00 each. Different breeds and different areas = different prices.
