What age was your pullet when she laid her first egg?

Our chickens are 18 weeks old and we just got our first eggs! I found 4 all together today, a pretty light brown color.

My RIR gave us her first egg last night and she is 19 weeks. The egg was broken as the shell was paper thin. We also have an EE, BO, Delaware and a SLW. I have a feeling the BO is next. She is squatting a lot and acting very submissive every time I go into the run.

Welcome to BYC!

I've been feeding my older 3 oyster shell. I have to seperate them from the group, due to the young ages of the other chicks. My youngest 2 are 10 weeks. I heard giving them calcium hardens up the shells. I've also heard the first one could be soft. My RIR is going on 18 weeks, so maybe it won't be long???
