This is an interesting one! She said the chick came from Mount Healthy. They don't have Delawares listed on their website. They have Golden Comets (red sex-link). Then I learned that Red sex-links are created by crossing RIR roosters with Delaware hens. There seems to be a big variation in how the roos can look. Also...it was in a "red pullet bin" at the feed store.
Just a possibility! (BUT another possibility is that since they are using Delaware hens to make Red sex-links, then what happens to all those delaware roos?? maybe end up at the feed store in the pullet bin!)
