That all depends on if you are feeding medicated starter or not. NOT all starter is medicated.

I all ways get medicated starter, but when I hatched a baby duck (Crackers on 4/15) I got a big bag of not medicated. Crackers can't eat the hole bag, so the chicks where eating it to . . . and look what that did

Ducks aren't supposed to have medicated starter so that was a good move, just stinks it has come to this....

Don't beat yourself up. There really isn't that much Amprolium (spelling?) medication in most commercial chick starters anyway. Now when I have chicks with Cocci, I've given them the medication in their water instead. It's really much better.

I hope the other chicks do ok.
