What am I doing wrong? Or am I just being paranoid?

If you can hang the feeder, hang it so it is at the height of the chicken's backs. It works great, they can't spill nearly as much.

I have a small feeder in the hen house for when they are locked up at night and sometimes it takes me a while to get out there in the morning (well, on the weekends mainly).
