What am I doing wrong???

I have the same incubator.. Never had to calibrate mine and I had great hatches everytime.. Almost 100%.. The only problems I ran into with mine were with marans eggs. Good Luck and be patient!! Sounds like you done everything right..

So it's now the evening of day 21. My broody hen hatched one of the 2 that were under her and I listened to the other one and it is peeping. Hopefully it will be hatched by tomorrow morning.

On the other hand, the ones in my incubator still haven't even pipped.

Since they hadn't pipped yet, I pulled 3 of them and candled...all had movement in them and one of them looks to have pipped the aircell but I didn't hear any peeping. I swear if I don't get a few chicks from this incubator hatch, I'll just use a broody hen from now on.

Is it okay to pull "locked down" eggs and candle?

Asking as a very inexperienced incubatorer who has eggs at day 20 in lockdown.

Not something you would typically do. However, I did it quickly because none of them are pipped yet and it takes about 15 seconds for this particular incubator to come back up to temp and humidity. I would NOT have done this if any of the eggs were pipped.

I just had a silkie that had not hatched by the 25th day. So I chipped it open from the top and SLOWLY hatched it out. It still had the umbilical cord attached and super weak. So, I think he still was not ready to come out but I was afraid he would die in the egg without help. My impatience and inexperience are to blame. But he seems to be doing good just itty bitty compared to the other five that hatched on time.

To be honest I have been a little shocked at your post since I first saw it. Sort of wondering just what you see is the problem at this point. I don't really consider you have one just yet, but now I am wondering if you are not going to make one. You fussing and getting nervous is not doing one thing to improve these chicks chances. taking them out of lockdown on the other hand is doing nothing but making there chances less. Tell someone to tie you to a chair for the next 24 hours, if the eggs have not hatched by then you have my full blessing in going all out bezerk over them. Until then hatching does not even start until after 21 full days of incubation. sometimes it happens sooner and sometimes later. they are not little fuzzy alarm clocks.
