ok, i bought shipped eggs. 8 out of 12 developed. all is good......until day 18. on day 18, i removed the egg turner and the plug dropped
on one of the eggs and cracked it. crap!!!!
ok, i put tape on it. remember this egg..... the humidity has been 65% or close to it for 18 days. on day 18 i raised the humidity to 75?% or close to it. i have a hovabator and the temp stays at 99 and sometimes will read 100 for a minute then goes back to 99. on hatch day one egg pipped, but the only chick to make it was the one i broke.
. i did a test run a few weeks ago w/ shipped eggs and my own and all of mine hatched except one, but the last chick was getting stuck in the shell.
none of the shipped eggs developed. i opened two of the eggs to see if the chicks in this batch were alive but stuck, but two were alive but died right after i opened the egg(the first was the one that pipped)the last few i opened there was really thick fluid. is it the humidity? i thought if it was too high the chicks would drown? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i am at my wits end.
