So we are on Day 14 and this waiting thing is KILLING us!! (My kids and I) So we did a little candling just to see how "our babies" were doing. Well we have 2 eggs that look like they have no veining on the bottom of the egg. They have an air cell at the top, a wiggling "thing" in the middle and some empty space (light shines bright) on the bottom of the egg. What is that? And do these little chickies have a chance? This is our first hatch and as "THE DAY" comes closer so does our nervousness rise. Thanks for any help!

Sounds good to me but I am no expert.

Great thread on candling with lots of pics to help with visuals

Good luck on the hatch

Sounds like everything is just fine. That clear area at the pointy end is just part of the egg. Nothing to worry about. Especially since you can already see the chick moving around. Have a great hatch! My kids will give up watching TV and playing video games just to watch chicks hatch!

Thank you for the reassurances! I am so nervous, I really don't want any disapoointed children. We've been to TSC and telling them they have to leave w/o chicks has been hard enough. But since we have 37 waiting to hatch I told them we'll wait but if they don't make it we'll go back. I only have concerns on 2 that don't seem to have anything in them but one I can't REALLY tell and the other is green so it's hard to see ANYTHING!! So they'll go into lockdown on "THE DAY" for my optimistic son.
