Hmmmmmm THANK YOU....the chicks are now feathered and outside...and living with some bars and buffs that they came up with...and what stands out the most about them to me...is that they have SHORT LEGS...like your pics!! I will have to get some pics of them and post tomorrow. So dern curious and so hard to find in my neck of the woods. My MUTT does have your CM's head...I think thats what confuses me the most...Ive never seen a head quite like his and I find myself staring and staring at it....Im now thinkn he is perhaps a maran barnyard mix/ cross of somekind.....really appreciate the education on them!!

Why does everyone think the chicken in question is a rooster. I think it is a really old hen. I do see spurs, but that is not that unusual in older hens. I am thinking an older Black Sex Link.
