Hi! It's that time of year again for our assorted rare breed order (from The Chic Hatchery) and there are 3 this time that we aren't sure about ...any ideas about:

1) the fluffy brown one
2) the crested white one behind the brown one (bantam?)
2) the black crested grey/white one (another bantam?)

They all have lighly feathered feet.
Thanks!!

Are they from this hatchery here? https://thechickhatchery.com/

I was trying to check what breeds they have but they have their site down so I can't. However, if the brown one has a single comb, I will say Partridge Cochin, as they seem to carry cochins. If it has a pea comb, perhaps a Partridge brahma.

For the white one in the first picture, the hatchery says they carry 'Polish Breeds' under their rare breed heading, but again I can't see more than that. That's a weird way to phrase it because Polish is ONE breed, so unless they mean they carry a variety of breeds from Poland, that's odd. But they also have a heading that says 'Brahma Breeds' and again, Brahmas are ONE breed, so I'm gonna assume they're using it to mean different varieties of Polish chickens. I'm guessing they might also have Sultans, which are NOT a type of Polish chicken, but could be what you have. Does it also have five toes and vulture hocks?

The last one I'm a little stumped on. If it DIDN'T have feathered legs, I'd say it could be a Spitzhauben. But you say they all have feathered legs.

I was going to say almost exactly that :lau

Website down, brown one probably Cochin (I think I see single comb), wasn't sure about the white one, third looks like Spitzhauben (OP said feathered feet, but I don't see them in the photo of that bird.)

I was expecting to find some sort of special mixes on the website (maybe Easter Eggers with feathered legs, or something of the sort.) But with the website down, I can't check that right now.

Oopsie! You're both right! No feathered feet on the Spitzhauben looking one-sorry for the confusion! Awww...How pretty!
Probably a Spitzhauben, then. That style of crest is fairly rare in other breeds, and the rest of the chick looks right too.

Ok, so the plain crested white one DOES have 5 toes and feathered feet . And I think vulture hocks as well...

The brown one only has 4 and feathered feet.

The site seems to be up again.

I found Spitzhaubens and Sultans on the "White Egg Layers" page, and Cochins under "Rare Breeds."

So the apparent breeds of the chicks are available at that hatchery.

For the color of the Cochin, I'm guessing Partridge, with Gold Laced being my second choice (working from the color list on the hatchery website.)
