What and when to vaccinate?

Well, went to the vet today! She had no recommendations no additional vacinations (they already had Mareks vac). She said the main problems they see chickens for are joint infections (stepping on something sharp and damaging a leg joint) and mite infections (bald spots). And that was pritty much it. My girls got clean bills of health and are now back in the brooder stuffing their little faces. You would think they hadn't seen food in days, but it was only about an hour and a half.

maurerwerks, I'm NH also, near Concord... the vet I take my cat to treats birds he is in weare (a bit of a hike) also I think there is a new vet center in Concord by the Tech that treats birds. I just got my chicks on 5/10 so have not had a reason for a vet... I hope I am wrong in thinking that what they consider birds is parakeets, etc. and chickens.
Actually, the problem is widespread for farm animal vet needs. everyone will care for cats, dogs, the occasionally rodent or reptile. NPR did a piece on it a few years ago... talking about the need for large animal and traditional farm animal vets, schools are just not producing them like they used to. (Blame Corp Farms...Urban expansion or the loss of the American Farm)
