My DH heard a commotion the other night at the coop, he was able to grab the camera and take a shot. We have 4 young Coopers hawks flying around like teenagers learning to drive. It's a good thing the dog wasn't around when this one decided to land! Heaven only knows what the chicken thought, that poor thing has been harassed by every bird in the area - including a humming bird! Glad to know my coop held up.

Your poor girl must have been thinking "MOM get out here NOW!" Nice picture. The youngsters have to learn thank goodness your girl is safe.

Coopers Hawks are bird killers, I can remember walking down the street last year while a shower of little feathers came down- it was one of the hawks tearing up a bird. But I'm really not too worried as my chicken is larger than the hawk. I did have thoughts of the little Loony Tunes chicken hawk guy coming to prove his might, I think this hawk would have tore in if it could have.
