What are Americana chickens some people tell me thee easter eggers but just another name for them.. Can anyone showme a adult rooster or hen of this breed!

Americana is a misspelling of Ameraucana, which is a valid breed that lays blue eggs. Any nursery that sells under the name "Americana" is actually selling Easter Eggers, which are hybrids produced by crossing either Ameraucanas or Araucanas (which also lay blue eggs) with other breeds to produce eggs in various colors (hence Easter Egger). There is a great link explaining the differences between Araucanas, Ameraucanas, Easter Eggers, and Olive Eggers at http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2011/09/ameraucana-easter-egger-or-araucana.html

First we had the Arauanas. Then the Ameraucanas. Now we have the Americanas? What's next?
The redwhiteandbluecanas?

Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong but from what I've read, I think "Americana" is the name Hoover's Hatchery (in IA) has given to it's Araucana x Ameraucana cross of easter egger type. I have six. They're beautiful, friendly little chicks!
