what are my new chicks

I have five Buff Orpington chicks that are 2 weeks old...they look like yours...they have pinkish-white legs.

I'm not familiar with the others.

Good luck with your chicks.

The black ones look like my little black sex link chick (black star). Looks the bottom one has a little white puff on her neck which would suggest it is a girl. Boys have a little white cap.

Soon after we got her

A couple days later

At that point brown feathers started coming in around her neckline and wing feathers

From the pictures I've seen they can be almost totally black to have a good deal of brown on their necks and brown. So, there its a bit exciting to see how your little girl will turn out (since she IS a mutt breed).

This is not my hen, very nice though...

Yeah we have one of each. I'm almost sure most of yours are black sex link as well Supermommy. There is one that looks like an Australorp though. Our black sex link "accidentally" got into the Australorp bin. We were newbies with a wish list and were just glad to find some left at the store. The good news is our Black Sex Link is our nicest chick and we were going for a pleasant pet chicken with egg laying prowess anyway. There seems like a ton of people that get black sex links thinking they are Australorps. The feedback I am reading from owners is both are really nice breeds to own. So it is a win win situation I think.

Our Australorp's first pic to compare to above

You can see our Black Sex Link and our Australorp look very different (coloration, head shape etc)

I've posted mine, too, and they look a bit like yours, but they were sold to me as Red Sex Links, first pix is one week old, second pix is almost 3 weeks.

I have four of these, I'm just hoping they're hens at this point, but I really wanted Red Sex Links (I have two BSLs and they're great egg layers).

Although Australorps are all black as adults, the chicks aren't quite as black all over as your chicks there. I would lean toward the Sex Link on those ones. I don't know enough to say on those others. It is a waiting game sometimes.
