What are Production blues... and what lead to this question.

I gotta get me some of these, I love me a big blue hen!

They're pretty chicks & turn into very pretty hens. As chicks range from a light grey to almost black..
I bought 2 this year, chose both who were light grey.
Laid earlier than my BOs by about 2-3 wks. Their eggs bigger & darker than my buff girls.
The 2 PBs are at the top of the pecking order, but that's not hard since other 4 are BOs.
One very quiet. The other (red bleed through) is quite vocal & chatty.

I gotta get me some of these, I love me a big blue hen!

They look a lot like my Sapphire Gems ... but the Gem's feathers are kinda outlined with a darker frey, giving them more of a mosaid appearance. They are basically Blue Rocks, I understand.
