what are pullets ????? i want to know

    "pullet" is the name for a young, female chicken... just like a "filly" is a young, baby female horse.

    Hen - female over a year
    Cockerel - male under a year
    Cock/rooster - male over a year

    They answered the pullet question, but just to clear this up:

    Bantams = minature chickens, normally under 2-3 pounds
    Large Fowl/Standards = large chickens, most between 8-10 pounds
