What are the chances of building a Production of Super Blue / Green egg layers ?

What about green eggs?
that would be easy to keep an eye for it.. say you cross a Red sexlink to a true Ameraucana then all of the F1 hens will lay green eggs, but you wont be keeping this hens as they wont lay as good as the red sexlinks, so you take the F1(Sexlink x ameraucana cross) rooster back to red sexlinks, 50% of chicks will have a pea comb, keep this ones as they have the gene for the blue egg shell gene, the hens will also lay green eggs, they will lay much better than the F1 hens, you can keep these ones if you like, take a BC1(back cross to red sexlink) rooster and cross it back again to Red Sexlinks, this will produce 50% chicks with pea combs, at this stage the hens will lay very good and they will lay green eggs,.

I actually understand some of that, but I think I'll let some one else do that. That would take forever, and I'm not a breeder, just curious.

We are well underway in our experiment. We already have the green egg layers and now we are trying for the blue egg layers. We have True Ameraucanas and we also have EE's.

if you already have good laying green eggers and want blue eggers just breed your best hen to a production type white leghorn, this will dilute the brown egg shell, keep breeding back to leghorn to produce blue eggers, dont use the araucanas

I just ordered six Green Egg Machine chicks from a local breeder. She crosses her auracauna rooster with her RIW hens to make GEM chickens. They have brighter shade of green than olive eggers, like lime green on some of them. I will see how the color compares to any green eggs laid by my new EE chicks and may order more GEMs next spring. I am very excited about these.
