I placed an order to Ideal Hatchery that is suppose to come about the 5th of June, and well, I only ordered 4 Bantam BO's, so the lady I spoke to said they will put in two Standard chicks as packing peanuts. She said they would be roos, and most likely would be RIR's or BR's. Well, for starters, I don't want any more roos. I'm at my limit right now with somewhere between 6 and 8, and I don't yet know how that will go once they reach maturity, so more roosters just kinda makes me want to groan. My question is, what are the chances that my packing peanuts might turn out to be girls? I can pray for it, right? If they are roos, I will just raise them til the swap in Kankakee IL comes around in September and sell them there, unless someone on here might be interested in them? For what I am spending on the BO's I am not able to give them away for free, but I won't charge an arm and a leg either. I personally don't want any RIR's, or even BR's at this time. Plus, I had to order my BO's straight run, and after how many roosters I got from doing that with Cackle Hatchery, I'm not holding my breath that I'll have all pullets. I'll be glad if I get just one! But the roos will have to get sold too. So, if anyone might be interested in some roos, let me know now and I'll give you first dibs on them. I am in West Central Indiana, near the Illinois border. I work in Danville Illinois as a point of reference. No pics yet cause, well, they haven't hatched yet and aren't here to take pics of!
I really hope I have some BO pullets...
