What are the geese doing?

I'm sorry for your losses. :( Bobcats can be persistent. Any luck with getting the remaining geese inside?

No. And I ended up having to let the two I caught out of the house just a couple hours later. They were hurting themselves trying to get out. These are basically wild geese that just don’t leave. They want nothing to do with being penned. Thankfully our Peafowl go back into their pen willingly, so they are safe.

Are these geese Canada Geese or just domestic geese that have never been around humans much?

Hopefully you can win them over with something they like to eat. Do you feed them at all?

I believe they are Chinese geese. We do have about 30 Canadian geese that come in the mornings but fly off by lunch time. I don’t know how often they were around people before we bought the farm. The property was up for auction in 2015 and the guy that won only lived here a year and did not take care of the geese or the Peafowl except toss them some
Corn once in a while. He said the geese have always just lived on the pond. Since we moved here late August we feed them every morning and afternoon. They usually hang out around the house during the morning and early evening, and follow us around when we are around the yard. They just don’t want anything to do with being penned. We are thinking of making something secure that feels more open to them so they don’t feel like they’re being shut up. Something similar to the Peafowl enclosure.

When you make your enclosure be sure to use something like hardware cloth because most anything can get through chicken wire, it's mainly for keep chickens in nothing out and cover the top as good as the sides so climbing preds can't get over and in. It will be costly in the beginning but having peace of mind they are safe is priceless.

Not sure what breed hard to see from that distance. Will they let you get closer?

How cool you have peas too. What happened some one just up and move and leave the birds behind?

Here’s a pic I took yesterday. There’s a couple of them there eating by the garage. Thanks for the tips about the enclosure. And yes, we bought the home in August and it came with ducks, geese, and the two Peafowl. They were all left behind when the home went up for auction in 2015, so I’m not positive on how much care they’ve had in the last couple years. Someone spent time with the Peafowl at some point because they are friendly, don’t leave the area, and return to their pen on their own.

They are beautiful what a nice blessing to have Geese and Peafowl come with the home.
Yep Brown Chinese.

I don't know where you are but a 3 sided roofed enclosure inside a secure area might be the best way to go Do you have the Book of Geese by Dave Holderread? there is a pic of a simple shed for geese in the book, face the open end south.
