What are the signs my hen is egg bound?

Other than no egg, how do you tell if a hen is egg bound? I have 2 barred rocks that started laying the first week of January. I have consistently gotten 1or 2 eggs every day, 9-10 eggs every week. The last 2 days no eggs, we doubled checked inside the roost when we closed them in last night. Today there are 4 eggs. Is it common for them to hold an egg and then lay two in one day?
