Hi all, looking for some opinions on my chicks once again haha. I received an order of Light Sussex chicks 4 weeks ago and now that they’re feathering in I’m seeing some worrying colourations :/ It’s important to me that these will breed true as they’re replacing my existing purebred flock which I got from a reputable farm that I fell in love with but I’m down to a hen and rooster. These ones are from a newer farm that took over the LS breeding stock of that farm apparently.

One chick for sure looks like a cross with maybe an ameraucana or EE? and a few others are showing some patterns on their wings, but they all have single combs.

TIA!

Oh good I hope so. It’s hard to tell in the pics but that chick’s legs also have a green/slate tint to them too? But maybe it’s the lighting. :idunno
Occasionally I'd get white skinned/shanked birds with some yellowish tipped scales, or a light wash.
That chick appears have abit of that, but may also have a tinge of slate.

I have no idea what breeds are in a Sussex's background, so it could be alittle throwback.

Just wanted to update at 11 weeks with new pictures. Unfortunately some of the roosters appear to have different types of combs :hmm mainly peacombs from what I can tell so I’m guessing an Ameraucana or EE got involved. Very disappointing.
