What are these...besides eggs

There are alot of ringneck pheasants around.

The nest was on top of a higher spot of ground, kind of a mound, in tall grass. the grass was pressed down in the center and this pile of eggs was there. I didnt see any pheasants that day.

I wonder if I put them back, will she set on them again? They were not really warm when I found them but the weather here has been cool. I will put them in the bator and see if they hatch. If so, I will have baby pheasants and I am sure they will go back to being wild

I looked and found this: Nest is a shallow depression, sparsely vegetated approximately 15 cm (6 inches) across. Clutch size varies from 6 - 20 eggs and the average is 10 - 12. Eggs can be many shades of brown or olive and measure 4.2 cm (1.65 inches) longitudinally. Hens incubate eggs for 23 - 25 days.

She may not have been done laying. I don't think I would put them back, she may not come back to that nest.

Cool weather? In North Dakota?? Did you get the snow Friday night/Saturday morning too? I took some pictures of it to send to my relatives in warmer climates...

It rained, snowed and sleeted all day Saturday, weird weather for may.

Luckily, Sunday was beautiful!

I will put the eggs in the bator.

Good luck with the rocks
