They're definitely molting, they still look so pretty though! Your dog is very pretty too, and so sweet around the chickens. What kind is it? I'm trying to talk hubby into getting me a puppy.

Don't know about the chickens, but the dog looks like it is a shepherd mix. Maybe with collie or Golden retriever? What does his tail look like? Very pretty!

THe dog looks like a longhaired german shepard( altdeutscher schaeferhund) maybe a mix with some retriever. THe chickens looks like red sexlinks or prodcution reds, the bottom one could be a golden comet.

The dog is from a local humane society, we just got her this fall, too- the paper work said long haired shepherd cross, but who knows, really. she is great with the birds and the kids. she's got a curly fluffy tail.

The birds are off craigslist, and they are debeaked. one is definitely molting, maybe 2. Is there anything I should be doing for them?
we love having the birds around. I figured that for starting out, these 3 would be a good choice

so far in 10 days we only have 3 eggs- maybe because they are molting, and not quiet settled in? or they might be hiding them- they have free range of the yard all day. or it is the weather. or......

I got the batteries charged up, so maybe I can get some more/better pics today.

Thanks for the help.

I think the bird in the second picture isn't molting, so she's probably the one laying your eggs. A change of home is a stressful situation, and that'll put them off laying for a while too.

Don't forget about the New hampshire red breed!!

The top two look like NHRs! the third a sex link...
