What are these brown chickens?

Love your avatar, LilJoe.

Thank you and thank you for the wonderful verse! :hugs

Thank you all!

It seems the consensus is EE mix. I've had EEs before, but I don't think I've had a mix.

Is anybody brave enough to take a guess of what the mix is? I was hoping they were welsummers initially, but I'm happy regardless!

If they are from a hatchery or feed store, they aren't likely to be mixes at all. Easter Eggers may not be a recognized breed, but hatchery stock are not mixed. They just haven't been bred to meet a particular breed standard.

They are from a hatchery (Stromberg Hatchery), I was sold a mix of 5 easter eggers, 5 white leghorns, and 5 brown layer mix.

I only have 3 birds with muffs, which my EEs have always had.

Muffs are common but not all EEs have muffs. The funky green legs combined with the fact you ordered EEs from a hatchery tells me these are EEs. When you post asking about breed without the rest of the information, you're going to get responses presuming you bought chicks on Craigslist or something (the vast majority of those are barnyard mixes).
