I got two chicks that are suppose to be GLWs, however, One looks like what I would imagine a GLW to look like, and the other does not. Are they both GLWs just differet sexes? mixes? If anyone can tell a gender it would be appreciated but they are very young still just under 3 weeks.

Chick one:
Greyish brown/red belly, bright orange feet, single comb.

Chick 2:
White, white, white belly, light orange feet, White one back, wide fat comb

Sorry about the picture quality, I looked better in the camera than it does here:)

The breed is correct. You have GLW. I wonder if you have a pair? A male and a female? One is feathering much faster then the other. Cute chicks.

. They look just like my GLW.

I've noticed a wide variety in the quality of the lacing on hatchery birds. I think they're both glw, just not well-marked.

Yes they are hatchery quality. It was the comb that had completely threw me off as one is long and thin and pale and the other is wide and flat(also pale). chick 1 is feathering quicker(obviously) than chick 2.

They may be a little lighter on their bellies then normal, but I bet they will grow up to be beautiful chickens.

I am sure they are, the both feel they are the best already.

I had some Wyandottes that came from Ideal that had single combs rather than rose combs. You have some hatchery stock GLWs. They should still lay eggs and be pretty birds.
