oh my gosh they are SO CUTE!!! I actually still was thinking EEs (only cause they look like my favorite EE hen when she was a baby), but it looks like they have standard combs in your pics?? EEs have peacombs. So I am still no help but they are adorable chicks, oh my goodness they are sweet!

The wing pattern on ours looks just like that! Ours are younger though (not as many feathers yet.) The only difference is that they have developed a black stripe across the beak. I can't tell if the beak will be striped or turn black entirely.

I'm really wondering if you were right and it is a cross of some kind.

What on earth could they be?!!!!!

Is it a straight comb or a pea comb? I was kinda thinking an Egyptian Fa............ something. I had one that looked like that. But what type of comb is it, I can't make it out?

Egyptian Fayoumi chicks are brown and speckled though.
