What are these?! - Need Identification help! =)

Unfortunately there are several breeds of chicks that look similar to your brown one. I have both Welsummer and speckled sussex chicks. Both look similar. I lean towards Welsummer. I don't remember mine having the white breast though. I will try to find time tomorrow to check them and reply. My brown leghorn last year also looked a lot like this.


Sheaviance1 - This is definitely not not a Gold Laced Wyandott. If your GLW looks anything like this then you got something else. By this age you should see the lacing of a GLW. The head color is also wrong for a GLW.

It's so hard to tell when the chicks are still so young. Based on the pics I looked at on feathersite they all look right except the Marans the First pic which you have said are Jersey's look more like what I would expect a cookoo maran to look like. http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGK/Marans/MaransChix.JPEG

In the photoshop picture, I see JG's first, black sex-link second, welsummer or brown leghorn next, and then australorp. But the australorp looks very light compared to the ones that I've had...

The welsummer or brown leghorn... that's hard to tell the difference between the two, but I bet since you were getting a dark-brown egg layer, it's a welsummer.

A cuckoo marans would be black with a white chest, and a white spot on top of their heads. Like a barred rock chick, but with white legs.

How old are they in the first picture?

They are about 3.5 weeks right now. The australorp is a bit younger as he was an unexpected purchase (like most of them lol). I'll try and get a couple more pics today to post of each when I head out for their treat/handling time.
