what are these, please?

I'm new to chickens and feel kinda dumb but I thought these were black sex link roo's. Are they not? Do I just have mixed up chickens here or what? Please help! They are roos aren't they, because they are going to the freezer! I think they are anyways!
I'm so confused!

They are boys.They are not BSL.BSL roosters are barred

thanks, I was pretty sure they were boys, but I guess they are just mixed breed, got them from an uncle who has some BLS but also RIR so maybe more RIR then BLS

Yes, how old are they? The first one is definately a male. The second one may be a female.

thanks for all the responses, both chickens are about 13 1/2 wks. so about 3 months. Could one really be a hen?

I'm sure it differs from breed to breed, but my chickens are 13 and 14 weeks old and yours have much larger wattles and combs than mine - you can see mine at this post for comparison:
