I just found these spots on my ducks bill the other day, ever had anything like this befor, and none of my other ducks do either. Is this a disease? a fungus? or just normal? also had some things on her one foot to that I have never seen abecor, and I do feet checks ever so often.

I believe this must be something that happens to Pekins and from the many posts that have been posted about it I don't think it's anything to worry about.

ok :) thank you, I was worried it was some disease I had to treat or something.

I'm told that laying ducks will get more and more black spots on their beaks the older they get.
Some sort of melanism thing related to the egg shells being produced.
Nothing to worry about :)

I just lost 2 pekins in a couple of days. They went into the coop and died. Both of them had these black spots on their beaks. I have one left so we will see what happens.

So sorry for your loss. Any other symptoms besides their bills?
No, they seem fine. They are not falling over or anything, but we go out in the evenings to let all the ducks in the coops for the night and we find them dead. We are scheduling our 3rd pekin with the vet. We also put the body of the recent loss in a garbage bag and in the refrigerator. Hopefully we can figure this one out.
