What are these white … things?

So I’ve noticed on both my RIR(7weeks) and my Red Sex Link (9weeks - shown in photo) have these white specks showing up on their feathers. What are they? Is it just from where the new feathers are emerging?

Yes, it happens when they grow new feathers.

You will mostly see it on the head, because they cannot reach to preen that area (which would remove those white bits.)

The bits will fall off in time.

I agree with @NatJ, they're nothing to worry about and mostly go away with time.
