These were in two of our eggs.......our pullets first lay.

In the yolk or white? Not sure that it makes a difference - just curious! Also- about how big were they? And, did they get darker after exposed to air (thinking that blood does that)?

They were in the white, close to the yolk. Hard to fish out! They were small.....the smaller one was like a sesame seed, the bigger one maybe two sesame seeds side by side....haha.

What Chickassan said. Perfectly normal, harmless. If you are bothered by them, just fish them out before cooking the eggs. I do remove them from my eggs, unless baking. Some birds are more prone to producing blood spots than others. Such a bird, if I can figure out who it is would be on my short list for cull.

As the others have noted they're likely meat spots or blood spots, harmless to eat but if it grosses you out just pick them out before or after cooking. Some chickens are just prone to laying eggs with them, others might have them far more intermittently. I have one hen that regularly has meat spots in her eggs, but as I can identify her eggs I simply don't use those for hard boiling.
