Hello goodmorning!
I am making French toast this morning and when I cracked one of the eggs it's got about 6 of these dark spots. I do not have roosters.
Can we eat it?

It happens when the cuticle that holds around the egg in the Ovary ruptures a vessel while the yolk is dropped into the tube.
Sounds rough. This is normal I suppose? They have a great layer feed. And I offer oyster shell for them at all times. They also get treats and a few left overs here and there. They eat pretty healthy. I just dont want any of my girls in pain.

It's common, & the birds aren't in pain.

Any reason they appear? Or just one of those freak things chickens do?

Blood spots and meat spots aren't uncommon. Both are safe to eat but may not look appetizing - you can remove them before or after cooking if you prefer. You don't see them in grocery store eggs because they candle the eggs for any inclusions.
