What ARE these?

They look like "project" lionheads-there's still a lot of variation within the breed. But there are many very dedicated breeders out there trying to get them accepted by ARBA, your friend could become one of them

I think they probably ARE lionheads, just not great examples of them. We were told they were purebred when we got them... I think though, that they will take more work with someone that's really dedicated to the breed. My 15 yr old is just now learning about animal husbandry and learning how best to take care of what she's got. We did receive another black and an orange and a brownish orange lionhead in trade from some other people as well. She'll probably try and work with those later on...they are still young yet...

We really like the mini-rexes and we have one little girl that's just a sweetheart! I'd personally like to work on those and maybe some meat rabbits.

I wish you and your daughter nothing but good luck if you decide to breed lionheads. I used to have 2 pairs of them. They are a great breed.
